Its primary applications include: Gas Purification Used in natural gas and petroleum refining to remove acidic gases (CO2, H2S, SO2) through chemical absorption. Key component in "Benfield Solution" for synthetic ammonia production.
Surfactants & Detergents Acts as a raw material for anionic/nonionic surfactants in detergents, soaps, and shampoos. Enhances foam stability and viscosity in personal care products.
Industrial Additives Corrosion Inhibitor:Protects metals in boiler water, coolants, and lubricants.
Emulsifier: Facilitates oil/wax dispersion in acidic conditions.
Softener: Improves texture in synthetic fibers and leather processing.
Chemical Synthesis Intermediate for herbicides (e.g., glyphosate), pharmaceuticals, and morpholine production.
